About

I’m a mother with a child who used to attend a Chinese language immersion program in a large urban school district, but who is now being homeschooled for his final year of elementary school. I’m using this blog to record our year of homeschooling, and trying to relate it to research on pedagogy and learning.  Beyond this, I’m also interested in child development, debates around public education, second language acquisition, and thoughtful approaches to teaching and learning.  This blog is an outlet for my thoughts on these topics, and does not represent the position of any organization or institution with which I am affiliated.  If you know me, you’ll be able to recognize me from this blog, but I’ve kept it anonymous for my kid.
